Isaiah 40:29

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

The screen glows. The room is dark. Your eyes are tired, and your mind still won't stop. You've been giving all day—your attention, your patience, your care—and now the tank feels empty. Of course you're exhausted. Spending yourself on people you love is real work, and the weariness at the end of it is real too.

Here is what God says into that emptiness: "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." Notice the direction. He gives. He increases. The strength doesn't come from digging deeper into what you have left. It comes from outside you, added to you, given to you in the exact state you're in right now—worn out and running low.

You don't have to produce more tonight. You don't have to recover on your own before He can help. He meets the weary as they are. What you spent today is not gone for good. He is already refilling.

You can close your eyes. You are being tended to by the One who never runs low himself.

A prayer for today

I'm tired, God. I gave what I had today, and I don't feel like there's much left. You see that. You know exactly how empty this feels. Thank You that You give strength to the weary. Not to the recovered, not to the rested—to the weary. That's where I am tonight, and that's enough to qualify. I receive what You are giving. I don't have to earn my way back to full. You are doing the refilling. I am the one being held. That is enough for tonight. Amen.
