Isaiah 40:29
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
You are not a little tired. You are the kind of tired where even getting up feels impossible, where you have already tried everything you know to try, and none of it worked. You may be wondering if God gives strength to people like that — or only to people who still have something left to work with.
Isaiah answers that directly: "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."
Not the almost-weary. The weary. Not the slightly weak. The weak. The verse is written for people who have already hit the wall. That is exactly who God has in mind.
The strength is not hiding somewhere inside you, waiting to be found. It comes from God, moving toward you. Your job is simply to stop pretending you are fine — because as long as you do, you are holding yourself closed to the very thing you need. Admitting how empty you are is not giving up. It is the honest place where God’s giving can actually reach you.
He gives to the weary. That means you qualify.
A prayer for today
I have nothing left, Lord. I am not pretending otherwise anymore. I cannot make this strength appear on my own. Please give me what only You can give. I am holding out my hands. Amen.
