Psalm 139:13

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

Maybe you have been pushing through lately. Skipping meals, losing sleep, running on coffee and stubbornness. Part of you wonders if God even notices what you do with your body—or whether it matters to Him at all.

Here is what the scripture says: "You knit me together in my mother's womb." Knitting is slow, careful, stitch-by-stitch work. God did not mass-produce you. He made you deliberately, with attention, from the inside out. And when someone makes something by hand, they do not want to see it run into the ground.

Your body is not just a container for your soul. It is part of what God made. The tiredness in your shoulders, the heaviness behind your eyes—God is not indifferent to those things. He knows this body. He built it.

Rest is not laziness. A meal is not a distraction. Sleep is not a waste. These are ways of saying: the One who made me is worth trusting with how I treat what He made.

He cares about your body. You are allowed to care about it too.

A prayer for today

You made this body — carefully, on purpose. I have been running it into the ground, and You saw that too. Tonight I stop pushing. I receive the rest my body is asking for. Amen.
