Isaiah 30:15

“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.'”

You have been working this problem for a long time. Turning it over. Running every angle. Trying to think your way to safety. And some part of you believes that if you stop, something terrible will happen — that the solution will slip away, that things will get worse.

God speaks directly to this in Isaiah 30:15: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength."

Not effort. Not strategy. Not one more hour of working it through. Salvation and strength come through returning and resting. The word for repentance here simply means turning back — stopping the forward charge and turning toward God instead of the problem.

Then comes the honest part: "but you would have none of it." That is not an accusation. It is a description. Anxious thinking feels productive. It feels responsible. Stopping feels like giving up.

But God is not calling you to give up. He is telling you where the actual strength is. You do not have to figure this out. You are allowed to put it down. He already holds the answer.

A prayer for today

I’ve been running the wrong way. I thought I could outrun the fear. I turn around now. I sit down in Your strength. Amen.
