Does God's name for me replace the old labels?

You just hung up the phone. Or you just walked out of a room where you were the disappointment, the one who didn't measure up. Whatever name they gave you—or you gave yourself—is still ringing in your ears. Right now it feels truer than anything else.

Here is what God says about that: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.'

Notice what happens in that sentence. God doesn't wait for you to sort out the old labels first. He acts. He redeemed. He summoned. He claimed. The name He speaks over you is not a reward for fixing yourself—it is a fact He established when He formed you. The old label says 'not enough.' His name says 'mine.' Those two cannot both be true, and He gets the final word.

You don't have to argue the old story down tonight. You don't have to feel different. The summoning already happened. His name for you has been spoken. It stands.
