Lamentations 3:22-23

“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

End of the week. Maybe end of your rope. The mental list of what didn't get done is scrolling behind your eyes, and the promise of the weekend feels thin, like it might not be enough to refill what's been emptied. You're waiting for a break, for a sign, for something to shift and make the weight feel lighter.

Right now, in this breath where exhaustion meets the quiet, something is already true. The hope you're straining to see on the horizon isn't out there. It's not a finish line you need to cross. It has already settled here, in the space you're occupying. It's your home base, and you are already safe inside it. You don't have to muster the energy to get there. You're already there.

Listen to this ancient, steady promise: 'Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.' This isn't a theory about a distant God. This is the rhythm of a constant presence. His kindness isn't a one-time event you missed; it's the dawn itself. A prayer for today

I don't know how to pray toward a hope I can't see. My eyes are tired of looking. So I'm just... here. In this place You made my home. Thank You that Your kindness doesn't wait for me to understand it. It arrives with the dawn, a constant presence I didn't schedule and can't control. Your faithfulness is the ground I'm standing on, even when my feet feel unsteady. I am held by a love that doesn't fail. I am not consumed. Let that truth be the air in my lungs tonight. I am already home in You. That's enough. Amen.
