Psalm 139:1-2
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.”
You feel like no one really gets it. You try to find the right words to describe what is wrong, and you can't. You're tired of explaining yourself — to your family, to your friends, even to God. You wonder if He would understand you if you could just get the words right.
Here is what Psalm 139 says: "You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar."
He doesn't wait for your explanation. He already searched you. He knows the thought before you find words for it. He knows the tiredness before you yawn. He reads the silence the same way He reads the sentence. You don't have to translate your pain into something more acceptable. He already speaks your language — the unspoken one.
You are not a mystery God is still trying to figure out. You are fully known, right now, as you are. That is not something you earn by explaining yourself better. It is simply true.
A prayer for today
You know. You know it all. I don't have to speak. I rest in being known. Amen.
