Psalm 6:6-7

“I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.”

You are exhausted. Not the kind of tired that a good night's sleep fixes—the kind that sits behind your eyes. You've been searching all day: searching for proof that you're doing okay, searching for something to feel good about, searching for a sign that the effort is worth it. And you came up empty again.

The psalmist knew this exact weight. He wrote: 'I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail.' He didn't dress it up. He named the physical cost—the weeping, the sleepless night, the eyes that simply gave out. God did not tell him to try harder. God received that cry.

Your tiredness is not invisible. The searching that wore you out—God saw every moment of it. He is not waiting for you to recover before He draws near. He comes to the worn-out eyes, not the rested ones.

You don't have to find anything tonight. You don't have to keep looking. The One who made your eyes already sees you clearly. Rest here. That is enough.

A prayer for today

I am tired, God. My eyes are tired. I have been searching for so long, and I have nothing to show for it tonight. You already see that. You already know. Thank You that You don't need me to explain it or fix it before You come close. I bring You these worn-out eyes. I bring You this exhaustion. Receive it. Hold me in it. I am done searching for tonight. You are here. That is all I need. Amen.
