Psalm 139:16
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
The house is quiet. But inside, the reel is still playing — scenes from today, memories from years ago, the parts you wish you could take back. The regrets don't wait for daytime.
That weight is real. You've spent years wondering whether God can truly accept a story with those chapters in it. Whether the messy parts disqualify you somehow.
Here is what the psalm says: "Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Not some of your days — all of them. Before you made a single choice, before the mistakes happened, God had already seen every one of those days and written them into your story. He didn't write them as errors waiting to be corrected. He wrote them as yours.
That means the days you regret are not news to Him. He isn't holding them against you or waiting for you to fix them before He accepts you. You are already received — the whole story, not just the good parts.
Breathe out. You don't have to earn your way back from anything tonight.
A prayer for today
The words won't come easily tonight. I'm holding chapters I'd rather not read aloud. But You already have the book. You wrote it. So here I am, bringing the pages I've tried to hide, the days that still sting when I think about them. I am tired of trying to fix what You have already received. Thank You that You are holding this whole story — the beginning, the middle, all of it — without needing a single revision from me. I am received. Fully. Completely. That is enough. Amen.
