Zephaniah 3:17
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.””
The screen glows in your dark room. You're scrolling, or maybe just staring, and a quiet thought surfaces: does God actually want me here? Not tolerate me. Not keep me on out of obligation. Actually want me.
That question makes sense tonight. You have been useful this season — the planner, the gift-buyer, the one holding it together. But useful isn't the same as wanted. And deep down you're not sure God sees the difference either.
Here is what Zephaniah 3:17 says plainly: "He will take great delight in you... he will rejoice over you with singing." Not tolerate. Not manage. Delight. Rejoicing. Those are words for someone you are genuinely glad exists.
God is not waiting to see how you turn out before He decides how He feels about you. The delight is already there. The rejoicing is already happening. Not because you had a good December. Not because you earned it. Because you are His, and He is glad about that.
You don't have to wonder if there is a place for you. There is. He already decided.
A prayer for today
God, the honest question tonight is whether You actually want me here. Not just allow me — want me. Thank You that Your Word answers that before I even finish asking. You take great delight in me. You rejoice over me. That's not a feeling I produced; that's a fact You declared. I don't have to earn my place with You. I already have one. Let that be enough to quiet the part of me that's not sure I belong. I am wanted. I am delighted in. That is enough for tonight. Amen.
