Romans 6:4

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Your phone battery is at 3%. So are you. That familiar warning of depletion — the feeling that your reserves are critically low and there is nothing left to draw from. Maybe it is more than physical tiredness. A soul-deep sense of running on fumes, where even good things feel like one more drain.

That emptiness makes sense. And the question underneath it is real: if resurrection life is supposed to be mine, why do I feel this empty?

Here is what the scripture says, not as a future promise but as a present fact: 'just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.' That new life was placed in you at the moment you were connected to the risen Christ. It does not depend on how full or empty you feel today. Your feelings are real — but they are not the final word on what is true.

The resurrection already happened. Your new life came with it. On the days it feels like 3%, that life is still there, still yours, still counting. You do not have to feel full for the fullness to be real.

A prayer for today

God, I name the emptiness. The fatigue that sits in my chest like something used up. I am not pretending it is not there. But You have told me a true thing: that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in me. Not when I feel strong. Now. In this tired, low-battery moment. I do not have to manufacture energy I do not have. I do not have to feel the new life to have it. I rest in what You have already done. The resurrection counts — even tonight, even here, even for me. Thank You that Your work does not pause when my feelings run low. Amen.
