Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

There is a voice in your head running a quiet audit. Not the big failures — just the steady hum of 「not yet.」 You should be further along. You should have more figured out by now. The person you were supposed to become keeps moving just out of reach.

That pressure is exhausting. And it has been lying to you.

Here is what is actually true: 「For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.」 Handiwork — not a rough draft, not a work in progress waiting on your improvements. Something already made, already signed. The good works in your life were prepared in advance for you to walk into. They were not a test you have to pass. They were placed on your path before you got there.

So the question — am I enough right now? — has already been answered. Not by your performance, but by the One who made you. You are His handiwork. That was true before today, and it is still true tonight.

A prayer for today

My shoulders have been tight, holding up a version of me that was never real. You see the strain. I’m laying down the book of ‘should be.’ Its pages are empty anyway. Thank You that I am Your handiwork. Finished. Loved. Enough. This narrative You wrote—the one I’m actually living—is the only one that matters. I am held in this story. I am home in it. That’s all. Amen.
