2 Corinthians 12:10

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

You're looking at your own reflection—maybe a dark screen, maybe a bathroom mirror—and what you see is the record of where you didn't hold it together. The moments you fell short, got tired, broke. You trace those old fractures with your mind, half-expecting the answer you've always feared: broken means broken.

Paul had a different answer. 'For when I am weak, then I am strong.' He wasn't performing toughness or pretending the hard parts didn't hurt. He was telling the truth about something God had already done in him: the very places he felt least capable became the places God's strength showed up most clearly. Not because Paul earned it. Because God works that way.

Your weakness doesn't disqualify you from that same truth. The weariness, the failures, the moments you barely held on—God was present in all of it. And what came through you in those moments—the compassion, the perseverance, the quiet courage to keep showing up—that wasn't nothing. That was real strength, and it was given to you.

You don't have to perform strength tonight. You already have it. It came through the hard way, and it's yours.

A prayer for today

God, I'm naming the parts of me that feel weak—the places I fell short, the memories I wish were different. I've believed they made me less. But You were there in all of it. The strength that got me through wasn't mine to manufacture. It was Yours, working in me when I had nothing left. So I receive that tonight. Not as something I earned, but as something You gave. My weakness didn't disqualify me. It was where You met me. Thank You. I rest in that. Amen.
