John 10:9
“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.”
Maybe you opened this app because something isn't working. You're tired, or worried, or just quietly wondering if God is even interested in someone like you right now — in this mood, with this history, at this hour.
Here's what Jesus actually said: "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture."
He called himself the gate — not the bouncer. A gate doesn't screen you. It opens. The whole point of a gate is to let you through.
The way in was cleared on the cross, long before you showed up tonight. There's no cleaned-up version of you required. No mood check. No waiting until you feel more spiritual. You don't knock and hope He's feeling generous. The door is already open.
The pasture on the other side isn't a reward for people who have it together. It's rest, offered freely, to people who need it.
That's you. You're already welcome. You don't have to be ready.
A prayer for today
Lord, I’m tired of standing outside, waiting to feel 'ready.' Thank You that the door swings open not because of my knuckles, but because of Your blood. I step in. Not because I am polished, but because You are the Gate. I am welcomed. I am safe. I am in. Amen.
