Does my failure make me worth less to God?

The screen glows. The room is dark. Your eyes are tired but your mind won’t stop. It’s replaying the day’s missteps—the sharp word you wish you could take back, the promise you didn’t keep, the quiet feeling that you’re just not measuring up. That old, familiar ache settles in your chest: the belief that your worth is something you earn, and tonight, you came up short.

That belief makes sense. Of course it feels that way when every mistake adds another mark against you.

But here is what the scripture says plainly: “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.” Your worth wasn’t decided by today’s stumble. It was decided by a love that paid a price before you ever made this particular mistake. Redemption isn’t a reward you qualify for after a good enough week. It’s already yours, handed to you through grace—which means it doesn’t rise and fall with your performance.

You are no less loved tonight than you were this morning. The failure doesn’t change what God said about you. You are worth everything to Him—not because you earned it, but because He gave it.
