Does my silence cut me off from God too?

The words won't come. You're staring at the ceiling, trying to piece together an explanation for the ache in your chest. How do you describe a feeling that has no shape? The fear isn't just the feeling itself—it's wondering whether the silence that separates you from other people also separates you from God.

It doesn't. The scripture says it plainly: "He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person." That word "testimony" is the key. Testimony is what you give when you're trying to make someone understand. Jesus never needed it. Not because He's politely waiting for you to find your words. But because He already knows what's there—before the thought is finished, before the feeling has a name.

Your silence isn't a gap He has to cross. Your confusion isn't something He has to decode. He knows the shape of the ache you can't describe. He reads the history you can't articulate. The parts that feel too jagged and private to say out loud? He already sees them, clearly, without flinching.

So you haven't been cut off. You are not harder to reach because you ran out of words. His knowing doesn't wait for your explanation to begin. It was there first, and it is still there now. You can stop trying to explain yourself—even to yourself. You are already understood.
