Psalm 139:16

“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

End of the month. Maybe end of a season. You're looking back, trying to trace a pattern in the chaos, wondering if your part in the story even matters. The narrative feels messy, your contributions small. A quiet fear whispers: what if you're just a loose thread, dangling on the wrong side of the fabric?

The worry that your life is off-pattern? That your color clashes or your stitch is in the wrong place? It makes sense. We're trained to look for clean lines and obvious plots. But the scripture flips that fear completely: 'Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.'

Before you took a single breath, your place in the tapestry was reserved. Your specific hue, your particular stitch—it wasn't an afterthought. It was the plan. The Artist who wove the cosmos looked at the grand design and said, 'Right here, this space needs *her* color. This section requires *her* texture.' You are not a mistake sewn into the edges. You are an integral thread, woven with intention into the whole. The very days that feel random or off-track? They were seen. They were known. They were written into the narrative of a love story too big to comprehend from your single thread's perspective.

You don't have to earn your spot or prove your worthiness to belong. You don't have to strive to make your thread more vibrant or more central. You are already part of the beautiful, complex, unfinished whole. Your life, with its tangles and knots and brilliant flashes of color, is held within a masterpiece. The work of weaving you in was finished long ago.

Your thread is essential. The tapestry would be incomplete without it.

A prayer for today

Thank You for this truth: I was written into Your story before time began. I bring the exhaustion of trying to make my own pattern, the fatigue of comparing my thread to others. You already see the unformed parts, the days that feel out of order. I am not a loose end. I am woven in. My color belongs. My stitch holds weight in the fabric You are making. I am held within the design. That is enough for tonight. I rest here, as part of the whole. Amen.
