Does my small, ordinary life matter to God?

You fold the laundry. You answer the emails. You drive the same route home. Somewhere in the middle of all that, a quiet question surfaces: does any of this actually matter to God? Not just your big decisions or your Sunday mornings — but this, the small and repetitive stuff that fills most of your days. It is a real question, and it deserves a real answer.

Jesus answered it directly. He did not say, "Come to me once you have figured out your purpose." He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Notice what He named first: the weariness. The burden. He saw the weight of it before He offered anything. Your ordinary life — the laundry, the commute, the routine that never seems to add up to anything grand — that is exactly what He was talking about.

He said He will give you rest. Not "you might find rest if you try harder" or "rest comes after you make your life more meaningful." He gives it. Right now. To you. With the laundry basket still in your hands.

Your life matters to God because you matter to God. He is not waiting for you to do something spectacular before He cares about your days. He already does. That is the answer, and it was given before you even thought to ask.
