Psalm 125:1
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
'It's all so shaky.' That's the whisper in your chest right now. A relationship, a job, your health, or just the general uncertainty of tomorrow — your inner voice keeps tallying the tremors. You feel like you're standing on a frozen lake, listening for cracks. The fear that your grip might give out is real. Your fingers are tired.
That fear makes complete sense. When the world feels unstable, your body and soul register every tremor. Anxiety isn't a failure. It's an honest response to a life that often offers no guarantees.
But here is the shift: you are not gripping the mountain, hoping you won't fall. You are the mountain. 'Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.' The scripture doesn't say you must hold on tightly enough. It says you are like a mountain — and mountains don't wobble based on how hard they're trying. They endure because of what they are and where they stand.
Your stability tonight is not a grade on your performance. It's a declaration about your place. The shaking may happen around you. It cannot happen to you. You are not almost there. You are already there.
A prayer for today
Honestly? I feel wobbly. Everything seems temporary, and my own strength feels like a thin reed. I'm bringing You this fear of falling, this chronic unease in my stomach. But Your word says I'm like a mountain that cannot be moved. So I'm naming the truth louder than the tremor: my stability is found in You, not in me. You are the unshakable ground. I am planted there. Thank You that my place is secure. I am held by a grip that never tires. I don't have to manufacture my own calm. My standing is a gift, complete and enduring. So here, I rest into what's already true. I am safe. I am unshaken. Amen.
A Pillar in the Storm · The winds howl, but you are not the shaking house. You are the pillar within it, grounded in an unshakable identity that lets you stand firm.
