Jeremiah 29:11

“"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."”

What if tomorrow isn't a weight you're meant to carry? What if the anxiety humming in your chest about what comes next—the decisions, the unknowns, the paths not yet visible—isn't a signal to plan harder, but a reminder that the planning was never yours to begin with?

Isn't it exhausting, trying to hold it all? To balance the 'what-ifs' and 'should-haves' and 'might-bes' like fragile glass in your tired hands? What if the very act of carrying that imagined future is the heaviest part?

Listen to this, a promise spoken directly into your weariness: 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' Did you hear the subject? The active voice? 'I know.' The knowing belongs to Him. The plans are His. Your name is written on them, but the blueprint is held in a hand infinitely steadier than yours. This is the burden lifted. The weight of figuring it out, of securing your own hope, of manufacturing a good outcome—it is gently, irrevocably taken from you. Your future isn't a project on your desk. It is cradled. It is being carried, nurtured, and protected by a kindness that does not fade, forget, or fail. You are not responsible for its safety. You are invited into its unfolding. The hope and the future? They are gifts, arriving in their time, delivered by love. You don't have to chase them, build them, or earn them. They are coming for you.

So breathe in. The next step is already known. Breathe out. The path is already secured. Your only task is to release the weight you were never meant to hold. You are free. You are safe. The story is good, and it is held.

A prayer for today

Thank You that the blueprint isn't in my hands. What a relief that the knowing belongs to You. I'm bringing You the mental lists, the sleepless rehearsals, the fear of a misstep—all the ways I've tried to carry tomorrow myself. You are already holding it. Every unknown, every turn in the road I can't see, is cradled in Your promise. I am not in charge of the plan. I am held by the Planner. So tonight, I lay down the weight of what's next. I am carried into what You have already prepared. That is more than enough. Amen.
