Luke 12:27

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”

Before you read another word, let your eyes rest here. Just for a moment. Notice the light in the room, the texture of the air, the simple fact of your own breathing. You’ve been looking for so long—scanning for problems to solve, for meaning to manufacture, for a purpose to pin down. Your vision has been a tool, a means to an end. What if, right now, it could just be a gift?

The weight of that searching makes sense. The pressure to see correctly, to interpret perfectly, to find the hidden lesson in every moment—it’s exhausting. You’ve been believing that clarity is something you must earn through effort, that understanding is a prize for the diligent. But here, in this quiet space, that pressure is allowed to dissolve. You don’t have to extract a single thing.

'Consider how the wild flowers grow.' That’s the invitation. Not analyze. Not dissect. Not labor. Simply consider. See them. They do not strive for their beauty. They do not spin themselves into royal garments. Their splendor is not an achievement; it is a given. It is worn without a single thought of being worthy. This is the gift of seeing you’re handed right now: permission to behold something in its pure, uncomplicated being. To receive the sight of it as a kindness, not a task. The flowers are dressed in a glory that outshines a king’s finest efforts, and they didn’t lift a finger. Their beauty is simply received from the ground up, from the sun down.

This is for you. Your worth, your place, your being—it is not a project to complete. It is a reality to behold. You are already clothed in a dignity you did not stitch. You are already rooted in a love you did not plant. For this one moment, let your eyes soften. Receive the world, and yourself in it, not as a problem to be solved, but as a wonder to be witnessed. Let the gift of seeing settle over you like a gentle light.

Nothing more to add. Just this: you are seen, and you are splendid. Let that be enough.

A prayer for today

'Consider the flowers,' You said. God, I’m considering. I’m letting my eyes just… land. I’m so tired of looking for answers. I’m tired of trying to see the point, the plan, the purpose in everything. Thank You that right now, I don’t have to. Thank You for this permission slip to simply behold. You are giving me eyes that receive, not eyes that strain. The splendor You weave into ordinary things is a gift laid in my lap. I am not laboring for this beauty. I am being given it. My own being, my own life—You are holding it up like a wildflower, dressed in a kindness I did not earn. So here I am. Seeing. And being seen. That is all. Amen.
